About Kesher
The word Kesher is Hebrew for “connection.” Joining a Taglit-Birthright Israel trip with URJ Kesher is about connecting with Israel on a more meaningful level -- the people, the history and the land itself. Kesher is a department of the Union for Reform Judaism that serves young adults. In addition to organizing Israel trips for participants from across the United States and Canada, URJ Keshrr is especially proud to have recently hosted a Taglit-Birthright Israel group from Suriname!
About the URJ
The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) is the umbrella organization of Reform Jews. The URJ provides vision and leadership to Reform Jews and congregations on spiritual, ethical, social justice and management issues. It provides programmatic support to Reform Jewish congregations and offers opportunities for individual growth and identity that few congregations could provide by themselves, such as camps and Israel programs for youth, study kallot and North American and regional biennials.
Because URJ Kesher's Taglit-Birthright Israel program is a part of the Reform Movement, you can be sure that the experience embodies a spirit of inclusiveness, tolerance, and progressive thinking. The program welcomes eligible participants from all Jewish backgrounds as part of a trip community experience that is relaxed and always enjoyable. Learn More: Why URJ Kesher?
