We know for many this trip is a special opportunity to travel with a friend or family member. We want to help make that happen! Here’s what you can do:
Make Sure Your Friends Register with URJ Kesher
We are only able to place you on a trip with friends if they also register with us as their trip organizer. Make sure they choose URJ Kesher during their Primary Application!
Tag Travel Companions
When you register with URJ Kesher, you can officially let us know if you have a travel companion request. A couple of days after you register, we’ll email you about completing our Secondary Application. As part of that form, you can search for friends and family members, and tag them as travel companions. If you can’t find them, it means they didn’t sign up for URJ Kesher…so make sure to give them a friendly reminder!
Request the Same Trip Dates
Once trip dates are finalized by Birthright Israel, we will ask you to enter your trip date preferences in the Secondary Application. You’ll be able to view and rank all trips that you might possibly be willing to join. Make sure that you and your friends rank the same trips in the exact same order. This will help us match you together on the same trip.
Traveling with Friends and Family in Different Age Brackets
Birthright Israel groups are divided into 18-22 and 22-26 age brackets. However, we know that many participants want to travel with friends in different age brackets. In these cases, we are happy to make exceptions. When selecting trip preferences, these applicants may choose trip dates in either age range.
Don’t worry if you’re traveling alone! Most URJ Kesher participants travel without a companion, and the trip is an amazing opportunity to meet fellow peers of all backgrounds and forge new lifelong friendships.
